R. W. Bro. Wayne Martin, DDGM. 2010 - 2011

R. W. Bro. Wayne Martin was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. Along with his family he was active in the Salvation Army, particularly with the band. His interest in music led him to attend Verdun High School, and he was there introduced to Masonry through the activities of two of his teachers, R. W. Bro Robert Cameron and Bro. Carl Freiberg. He graduated from Verdun High School in 1976, and attended Vanier College studying nursing.
Moving to Ontario to complete his studies, he settled in Brockville, and started raising his family.
He was initiated into Sussex Lodge #5 in May 1985, passed in June 1985, raised in November 1985 and served as Worshipful Master in 1992-93.
Moving to Kingston to pursue professional opportunities, he affiliated with Royal Edward Lodge #585 in 1994, and served as Worshipful Master in 1997-98 and 2006-07, at which time it amalgamated with Cataraqui #92.
He is also a member of Sussex-St.Lawrence Chapter, and Gondemar Preceptory, Tunis Temple, where he served as president of the 1000 Island Shrine Club in 2007, Kingston Lodge of Perfection and Rose of Sharon Chapter Rose Croix, having served as Most Wise Sovereign in 2006-2008.
With his wife Maureen they have a combined family of five children and three grandchildren. Professionally, he has been a nurse since graduation in 1979, working as staff nurse, ward supervisor, Administrative Coordinator, and most recently Director, Patient Care Services at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital.
Wayne has chaired various lodge and District committees and became an elected member of the management committee in 2007, Vice President in 2008 and President of the Masonic Association of Frontenac District in 2009.
On July 22nd, 2010 his nomination was confirmed by the Grand Master M.W. Bro. Raymond S. Daniels as the Grand Master’s representative to Frontenac District.
